There is a new Legislation (H. Res. 638)
in the US House of Representatives asking the United Nations to
admit India as a permanent member of the Security Council.

congressperson to support the H. Res. 638

While most of the countries support India’s Permanent seat on
Security Council, USA still has not endorsed this request.
Permanent Members Russia, Britain, China, France and other
countries like Japan, Germany, Australia and many more support
India. This legislation has been referred to the House Committee
on Foreign Affairs and is waiting hearing. If it is not acted on,
it will just get killed. Now is the good opportunity for the
Indo-American community to write letters to their Representatives
to support this bill so it gets a hearing and moves forward. With
USA support, there is a very good possibility that India will
become Permanent member of United Nations Security Council.
